GUYANA will open their 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign against defending champions USA on June 18 at the Allianz Field in Minneapolis. The Golden Jaguars were drawn in Group D of the 16-team tournament, with the defending champions (USA), Panama and Trinidad and Tobago. Following their June 18 opener, coach Michael Johnson and his squad will travel to Cleveland to take on Panama on June 22 at the FirstEnergy Stadium then play their final group game against regional rivals, Trinidad and Tobago, on June 26 at the Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas. Meanwhile, Canada will play in Group A, where they will take on seeded country and perennial Gold Cup contenders Mexico and Caribbean nations Cuba and Martinique. In other action, Group B features seeded side Costa Rica taking on Haiti, as well as Nicaragua and Bermuda, while Group C will see Honduras and Jamaica face El Salvador and Curacao. The 2019 Gold Cup features an expanded field, with 16 teams for the first time, including first-time entrants Bermuda and Guyana. The United States will host the majority of the matches, but this year’s tournament will feature group-stage games in Costa Rica and Jamaica – the first time Gold Cup games have been hosted outside of the US, Canada or Mexico.

Jamaica to host GC matches.www.eurosport.com/football/jamaica-to-host-matches-in-this-year-s-gold-cup_sto7212524/story.shtmlBy Andrew Downie April 2 (Reuters) - Jamaica will host two matches in this year's Gold Cup, becoming the third country to help organise the expanded tournament, the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) said on Tuesday. The double header will take place in Kingston’s National Stadium on June 17 and feature matches including the host nation and Honduras, although their rivals are not yet known. The draw for the tournament takes place on April 10 and it kicks off on June 15 in Pasadena. This year’s Gold Cup is the biggest ever, with 16 teams playing matches in the United States and Costa Rica. Tuesday’s decision to include Jamaica marks the first time a Caribbean nation has hosted games in the region’s principal international soccer competition and is part of an attempt by the confederation to broaden the game's appeal in the region. "Bringing the CONCACAF Gold Cup to Jamaica is a watershed moment for our Confederation and Caribbean football," said CONCACAF President Victor Montagliani. "Hosting our premier competition in Jamaica for the first time is an extraordinary opportunity to promote the very best of the game in the Caribbean, while raising standards and improving access to the sport across our Confederation." CONCACAF Makes Gold Cup Rule Changes
Concacaf has reintroduced extra time ahead of the 2019 Gold Cup while the competition will no longer allow teams to name 30-man squads.

The Gold Cup will do away with its six-player replacement policy and bring extra time back into the tournament's knockout round, among other rule changes aimed at bringing Concacaf's premier tournament into line with other confederations' top competitions.
Previous iterations of the tournament have allowed nations to name 30-man squads and replace up to six players on their roster between the group stage and the knockout round.
Now, the region's managers will be required to name a squad and stick to it.
