San Juan whips newcomers Valencia 3-zipby Walter Alibey 4 hours ago Fri Sep 14 2018 WALTER ALIBEY guardian.co.tt/sports/san-juan-whips-newcomers-valencia-3zip-6.2.666635.19443a0d1bwalter.alibey@guardain.co.tt Newcomers to the Premier Division of the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Valencia Secondary received a baptism of fire in its opening match yesterday at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya, going down 0-3 to an experienced and well-oiled machine in San Juan North Secondary in the first game of a doubleheader. Isaiah Chase, Jerry Morris and the prolific Renaldo Boyce all beat Valencia custodian Ezekiel De Souza will brilliant strikes, but it was more the team's combined efforts that stood out, coupled with the inexperience of the Valencia players, all whom held the ball for unnecessarily long periods that often landed them in problems. The game was just 15 minutes old when Chase broke the Valencia off-side trap and galloped on to a through ball before lobbing an onrushing De Souza for the opener. San Juan, the dethroned Coca Cola InterCol champions in 2017, showed their experience by keeping the ball for long periods and launching strategic attacks which led to its second goal. Striker Morris, who taunted the Valencia defence in the early moments, was later gifted his goal when defender Jerome Arrindell fumbled the ball in the back and allowed Morris to race clear of the defence on the right side before firing powerfully past De Souza to the far post in the 27th minute. Despite the inexperience of its players, however, Valencia had only itself to blame as players seem more concerned with self-glory, failing to release the ball in-spite of nearby support. Otherwise, they may well have a team to trouble their opponents this season. Striker Dwight Yorke, one of just a few players in the Valencia roster with star-studded names, showed why the easterners can be a potential threat when he was picked out unmarked outside the San Juan area. The talented striker eluded two defenders on his way to goal but found himself on his unfavoured right foot and fired a tame shot that did not trouble the San Juan goalie. San Juan went to the break with a comfortable 2-0 advantage but when the match resumed, they received a scare when Yorke's long-range shot cannoned off the crossbar before bouncing to safety. San Juan could have put the game beyond their opponents reach, as they created a number of chances that went a begging. They eventually sealed the win in the 72nd minute. Boyce, the school's leading striker last year, powered his way past two markers in the centre of the pitch, before his blistering low drive flew past De Souza for maximum points in the game. The featured match between St Benedict's College and Trinity College east ended in a goal-less draw.

Pres whip Trinity to start defence
Reigning national champion Presentation College of San Fernando got the defence of its title off to a positive start behind a 3-1 win over Trinity College, Moka in the Shell/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League match played at the Mannie Ranjohn Stadium, Marabella, yesterday. Winners of the newly formatted league last year to follow in the footsteps of Naparima College and Shiva Boys Hindu College, the Shawn Cooper-coached Presentation were joined on three points alongside San Juan North by Naparima, and St Augustine Secondary, both victorious on the road. Jordan Riley set the tone of the game with an 18th minute goal which is team took into the dressing room at half-time. Six minutes following the resumption his teammate Omri Baird extended the lead to 2-0 and to ensure the opposition was out of it Shakeem Julien netted in the 87th minute. However, the visitors had the last say when Kei Phillip got his name on the score sheet with an in jury time goal in the 92nd minute. Fatima College through an own goal by Jaheim Aguilliera allowed Bishop's to earn a 2-2 draw in their Secondary Schools football encounter at at Mucurapo last evening. Fatima the home team dominated the game and took the lead in the third minute through Zachary Welch. Alzarius ali then doubled the lead in the 49th. After that Bishop's started to fight and Kuran Roberts got them on the score sheet in the 54th minute. Eleven minutes later Bishop's would celebrate again as Aguilliera found his own net as the teams had to share the spoils. In other matches, QRC fought back well after initially taking the lead to also earn a 2-2 draw with East Mucurapo Secondary. QRC took the lead in as early as the 5th minute, before Mucurapo skipper Zion McLEad equalised in the 25th through a penalty. Mucurapo then took the lead thanks to an item by Shakeem Wickam in the 34th. At the half they enjoyed the lead before QRC struck back in the 51st to level the scores. Try as hard as they may both teams were unable to break the deadlock and the game ended 2-2. Naparima College dominated its clash against St. Mary's College at Serpentine Road despite throwing away many chances. Naps took the early lead through Seon Shipply and controlled the play for the most part thereafter. However, against the run of play, the host struck back, equalising just before the half to share the half-time honours. Upon the resumption, Mark Ramdeen and Isa Bramble extended their advantage to secure all three points. Naparima’s Nathaniel Perouse(L) tries to hold off his opponent from CIC player during SSFL action at St Mary’s grounds yesterday. Pres make it two in a rowguardian.co.tt/sports/pres-makes-it-two-in-a-row-6.2.671578.6318eefb25NIGEL SIMON Defending champion Presentation College of San Fernando moved into sole possession of top spot in the Premier Division of the Shell/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) with a 3-1 whipping of Carapichaima East Secondary at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre, yesterday. Starting the day levelled on three points with St Augustine Secondary, Naparima College and idle San Juan North Secondary, Presentation got a goal each from Jordan Riley, Shakeem Julien and Omri Baird, just as they did in the opening round win over Trinity College of Moka, to lead 3-0 at the half-time whistle against Carapichaima East. It was Carapichaima’s first match of the season. The second-half saw a much improved defensive effort from the Central Zone school, who managed to pull a goal back, however, the damage was already done in the first 45 minutes by Presentation to improve to maximum six points after two matches, two ahead of former two-time champion Naparima College, St Augustine Secondary and Queen’s Royal College (QRC). Naparima was held to a goalless draw by East Mucurapo Secondary at its Lewis Street, San Fernando home ground while the “Green Machine” of St Augustine needed a goal four minutes into time added on from Kesean St Rose to earn a 2-2 at home with East Zone rival, Trinity College East. Dorian Sampson scored in the 29th minute for “Gustine” to lead 1-0 at the half-time interval as they looked to build on the 4-2 opening win against St Anthony’s College. However, on the resumption, Kerdell Sweeen (55th) and Terrell Wiley (73rd) got items for the visitors to silence the home crowd, until St Rose struck at the death for a share of the spoils. Over in Tobago at Plymouth Recreation Ground, St Anthony’s College got two late goals in a 3-1 defeat of Bishop’s High School. The trio of Zion Williams, Omari Williams and Khiesa Granger were all on target for the “Westmooring Tigers” to cancel out Dominique Lyons’ reply for the hosts. At QRC ground in St Clair, national Under-20 standout John-Paul Rochford got both goals to lead the Royalians past promoted Valencia Secondary while up at Moka, Maraval, Kai Phillip’s 35th-minute strike secured all three points for Trinity College Moka over Fatima. In the day’s other fixture, St Benedict’s College and St Mary’s battled to a 1-1 draw at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.

Champs 'Pres' edges Saints 1-0
WALTER ALIBEY guardian.co.tt/sports/champs-pres-edges-saints-10-6.2.673974.e3fef5b282SHOULDER TO SHOULDER: Queen’s Royal College’s Nathaniel Brown, second from left, holds off a challenge from St Augustine Secondary’s Kiel Lopez during their Shell/FCB Secondary Schools Football League Premier Division match at Warren Street, Reigning champion Presentation College got a single goal from Aleem Barkley to maintain its winning streak in 1-0 win against St Mary's College (CIC) in round three action in the Premier Division of the Shell/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL), yesterday. Entering the match with an unblemished record away at CIC ground on Serpentine Road, St Clair, the southerners left it until late before Barkley found the nets in the 78th minute, which puts them on top the standing on nine points from three wins in as many matches. Its closest rival, Naparima College, was much more convincing at Guaracara Park, Point-A-Pierre, thrashing St Benedict's College 3-1 to move to seven points. After a 1-1 tie in its last match, coach Angus Eve's boys made sure of maximum points this time around. They opened the scoring in the 37th minute from Mark Ramdeen for a 1-0 half-time advantage but failed to stop Jabari Jones from finding the equaliser in the 71st minute. Later, however, "Naps" as they are popularly called, restored their advantage when Seon Shippley beat the Benedict's goalkeeper in the 83rd minute. And on the stroke of regulation time, Isa Bramble drilled the nail into Benedict's coffin with his item. At San Juan North School grounds, the home team came out from a bye in the last round of matches to whip Bishop's High School of Tobago 4-2 and maintain its clean sheet so far. Isaiah Chase and Renaldo Boyce, who were among the goalscorers in a 3-0 win against Valencia Secondary at the Marvin Lee Stadium a week ago, again found the net yesterday, to add to other items by Elair Brewster and Christian Mitchell in the winning effort. At St Augustine, the home team got a single goal from Kesean St Rose in the 30th minute to turn back a battling Queen's Royal College (QRC) 1-0 and take them to seven points from two wins and a tie.

Ackeel Jacob got the lone strike for Presentation midway through the first half as it improved to maximum 15 points, two ahead of neighbours and former two-time winners, Naparima College, 3-1 victors away to St Augustine Secondary at Warren Street, St Augustine. The trio of Isa Bramble, Jeron Pantor and Declan Marcelle scored a goal each for the visiting Naparima while Rivaldo Coryat was on target for the "Green Machine" who slipped to joint fifth on seven points with Queen's Royal College (QRC) and St Anthony's College. Champs Presentation goes after win #6by 6 hours ago Wed Oct 03 2018 St.Benedicts College's Jaycee Paras (front) tries to keep the ball under pressure from Presentation College's Zion Allen during last Wednesday’s SSFL action at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella. Presentation won 3-1. NIGEL SIMON With head coach Shawn Cooper away on national duty with the T&T women’s team at the CONCACAF Championship in the USA, defending champion Presentation College of San Fernando will hope to make it six wins from as many outings when the Shell/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League Premier Division continues today from 3.40 pm. Coming off a narrow 1-0 away win against East Mucurapo at St Anthony's College ground, Westmoorings on Saturday last, Cooper’s last match at the helm before he left with the team, Presentation, leader with maximum 15 points, will be at home to promoted Valencia at Union Hall under the supervision of assistant coach Dunston Williams. Valencia, on the other hand, has one win from five matches, a 3-1 defeat of St Mary’s College and will be considered heavy underdogs to put an end to the southerners perfect start to the season. Former two-time champion Naparima, two points behind in the second spot, will also be at home for the visit of another promoted team, Bishop’s High, which is rooted to the foot of the 15-team table with a mere point, levelled with Fatima College. While the top two teams should pick up easy wins, a keen battle is expected at San Juan North Secondary ground in Bourg Mulatresse, where San Juan North which dropped its first points in four matches in a 1-1 draw at Trinity College Moka will entertain the surging Carapichaima East, fifth with nine points. Elsewhere, three North Zone derbies are on schedule, with St Anthony’s at home to St Mary’s College in the “Battle of the Saints”, East Mucurapo clashing with Mucurapo Road neighbour Fatima and up at Moka, Maraval, Trinity College entertains Queen’s Royal College. In the day’s other fixture, St Augustine, coming off of two straight defeats heads to Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre to face St Benedict’s.

Sheppard leads Pres to victory #6
NIGEL SIMON nigel.simon@guardian.co.tt No coach Shawn Cooper, no problem. This as Presentation College of San Fernando led by a brace from Jaiye Sheppard continued the team's defence of its Shell/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League Premier Division crown with a 5-0 hammering of Valencia Secondary at Union Hall, San Fernando, on Wednesday. With head coach Shawn Cooper away on national duty with the T&T women’s team at the CONCACAF Championship in the USA, all eyes were on Presentation to see how the defending champion would respond under the supervision of assistant coach Dunston Williams. And at the half-time interval, it was steady progress as Presentation led 1-0 thanks to a strike from Justin Cornwall in the 38th minute. However, within four minutes of the restart, it was all over as a contest with Sheppard scoring in the 47th and 49th minutes to put the hosts 3-0 ahead. Valencia then pressed the self-destruct button with Keegan Faria (62nd), Dwight Yorke (64th) and Zidan Liverpool (67th) all shown straight red cards by referee Clevon Joseph, to reduce their team to eight players. Faria was shown a red for a dangerous tackle while Yorke and Liverpool were for dissent. To add to the visitor's misery, Jardel St Clair and Shakeem Julien then added to Presentation's tally in the 68th and 81st minutes respectively to secure their biggest win of the campaign so far this season, and record the school's sixth victory on-a-trot for maximum 18 points, two ahead of bitter neighbour and former two-time champion, Naparima College. The trio of Tyrike Andrews, Isa Bramble and Jeron Pantor scored a goal each to see Naparima past Bishop's High School at Lewis Street, San Fernando. Up at San Juan North Secondary ground, Bourg Mulatresse, Jerry Morris filled in for the suspended pair of Ronaldo Boyce and Tyrell Cameron with a pair of goals in a 3-2 triumph over Carapichaima East, to move into sole possession of the third spot with 15 points and a match in hand on the top two. Isaiah Chase added the valuable third item for San Juan North while Mickel Alexander and Josiah King got a goal each in the loss for Carapichaima East, which dropped to the sixth spot with nine points, two behind St Anthony's College and Trinity College Moka. Down at St Anthony's Ground, Westmoorings, Kiron Manswell and captain Haile Beckles netted first-half items. Elsewhere, in another North Zone derby, East Mucurapo Secondary got a 93rd minute winner from Kidanie Lewis to edge past Fatima College 3-2 at Fatima College Ground, Mucurapo for its first win, while down at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre St Benedict’s College, also won for the first time this season, 1-0 against St Augustine Secondary. The match between Trinity Moka and Queen's Royal College (QRC) at Maraval was postponed due to a waterlogged field. Yesterday's SSFL Results

Randy Harris of QRC leans over on the back of Presentation San Fernando’s Darnell Hospedales as he vies for a ball during yesterday’s SSFL Premier Division game at the QRC Ground, St Clair. A LATE item from Seon Shippley saw Naparima College record a 1-0 win over Carapichaima East Secondary yesterday, which effectively closed the gap between themselves and league-leading southern rivals Presentation College, who simultaneously dropped their first points in the 2018 Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Premier League season. At QRC’s school ground in St Clair, Jordan Riley also scored late to secure a crucial point for Presentation College, the defending Premier Division champions. Captain Anfernee Stokes was on target for QRC in the first half. The results meant that both Presentation College and Naparima College would end round seven level on 19 points from six wins and a draw each. They, however, remain separated on goal-difference with Presentation holding the one-goal advantage. It was an unfortunate day for the host teams as Valencia Secondary and St Benedict’s College were the only schools to record wins in front of the home team supporters. St Benedict’s thanks to a fine team effort cruised past Trinity College Moka 4-0, with Keon Boney scoring a fine brace, while Valencia recorded a 1-0 victory over St Anthony’s College. San Juan North continued their unbeaten run with their fifth victory in six matches, while compounding Fatima’s misery with a 1-0 away win thanks to yet another goal from forward Jerry Morris. St Mary’s College were on a bye for the round.

Neck and neck
Presentation, Naparima must wait for final round
THE Shell/FCB Premier Division title race in the Secondary Schools Football League is going down to the very last round of action on Wednesday.
Either leaders and defending champions Presentation College San Fernando (32 points) or old rivals Naparima College (31) will be crowned kings after both won their penultimate matches yesterday; while down at the bottom, big wins for Valencia Secondary (12) and St Mary's College (11) gave them renewed hope of avoiding relegation.
At the top, Presentation rebounded from their 3-1 loss to Naparima in midweek to beat St Anthony's College 3-1 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium. But 'Pres' had to wait until the second half before Jaiye Sheppard and Jordan Riley put them in charge at 2-0. And after Kiron Manswell pulled a goal back for St Anthony's, Jardel St Clair made sure of the three points with the third item for Presentation.
Last season, a 2-2 draw at Queen's Royal College ultimately cost 'Naps' the title. But yesterday at their Lewis Street home, Seon Shippley's 22nd-minute goal was enough to ensure there was no repeat of that stalemate against the Royalians. Naparima play at Trinity College Moka in their rescheduled round 11 fixture on Wednesday knowing that victory could see them sneak past Presentation.
'Pres' will have the more difficult task of playing third-placed San Juan North at Bourg Mulatresse, knowing anything but a win could be costly.
San Juan stayed three points behind Presentation after edging St Benedict's College 1-0 yesterday but their inferior goal difference means they would have to beat the champs by nine clear goals to surpass them.
In the battle to avoid relegation, St Mary's went to Trinity Moka and, led by a Kyle Carrington hat-trick, left as 5-1 winners to virtually condemn
Fatima to the drop. Fatima are now three points adrift of their traditional rivals and eight goals worse off. St Mary's also have a game in hand and they will be hopeful that that game advantage will help them overhaul Valencia.
But Premier Division newcomers Valencia boosted their survival hopes with their 3-0 win at St Augustine Secondary, through a first-half double from Devonte Felix and a second-half item by Keegan Faria. The East Zone side play Fatima in their final match.
In other games, East Mucurapo climbed to ninth spot after beating already relegated Bishop's High School 5-0 in Plymouth, Jelani Ferary getting a double; and Carapichaima East Secondary edged Trinity College East 1-0.
Yesterday's scores:
Bishop's High 0 East Mucurapo 5 (Jelani Ferary 2, Shakime Wickham, Daniel David, Malachi Celestine) Carapichaima East 1 (Luke Charles) Trinity East 0 Naparima 1 (Seon Shippley) QRC 0 Presentation 3 (Jaiye Sheppard, Jordan Riley, Jardel St Clair) St Anthony's 1 (Kiron Manswell) San Juan North 1 (Renaldo Boyce) St Benedict's 0 St Augustine 0 Valencia 3 (Devonte Felix 2, Keegan Faria) Trinity Moka 1 St Mary's 5 (Kyle Carrington 3, Michel Poon Angeron, Tyrese Spicer)

Photo by Nicholas Bhajan/CA-images NAPARIMA dethroned Presentation San Fernando as champions of the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Premier Division, after a dramatic day of action in the final round yesterday. Entering yesterday’s rescheduled Round 11 matches, Presentation San Fernando were on 32 points, followed by Naparima with 31 and San Juan North with 29. Naparima, the 2015 Premier Division winners, travelled to Maraval and defeated Trinity Moka 2-0, with strikes from Nathaniel Perouse, in the 26th minute, and Jeron Pantor in the 64th. Presentation San Fernando, the 2017 champs, also made the trip from South, to Bourg Mulatresse in Santa Cruz, to oppose San Juan North. However, that game ended in a 1-1 draw. Presentation College San Fernando's Ackeel Jacob, left, and San Juan North Secondary's Malik Farrier vie for the ball yesterday, in their SSFL Premier Division match, at San Juan North's school's grounds. Isaiah Chase fired a right-footed shot, in the 57th, to put the hosts ahead, but Presentation San Fernando’s Jardel Sinclair evened the scores in the 82nd, with a close-range shot past the left of goalkeeper Emmanuel Jordan. Naparima coach Angus Eve said last evening, “We feel very honoured and very humbled. We give God all the glory for what he has continued to do in our lives, as a school body.” He continued, “The Old Boys, the principal (Dr Michael Dowlath), the parents, the children, all the staff who has supported me tremendously throughout this trying season, and all of the teams who didn’t make this season easy for us at all, we just want to thank everybody for the contribution they would have made to the team winning this title.” Asked about the position the Naps team faced, with the likelihood that either Presentation San Fernando or San Juan could have emerged as title-holders, Eve replied, “It wasn’t in our hands so what we (tried to) dictate was what was in our hands, and that’s winning this game.” Midfielder Mark Ramdeen missed the latter matches this season due to national Under-20 team duties. Eve, the ex-national men’s team midfielder and captain, noted, “Mark is a different player, but we coach a squad of players and we believe in every one of (them). “We have guys like Isa Bramble, Decklan Marcelle and a lot of guys who could step up and do the job like Ezekiel Kesar (and) Molik (Khan),” he continued. “Mark scored some important goals for us. We always knew we were going to lose him, so we were prepared for that.” On the opposite end of the 15-team points standings, 2018 debutants Valencia joined Fatima and Bishop’s High as the teams relegated to the Championship Division. Heading into yesterday’s games, St Mary’s were on 12th place with 14 points, followed by Valencia with 12 points. Ironically, the already-relegated Fatima consigned Valencia to the drop, courtesy of a 3-2 win at Valencia. St Mary’s, on the other hand, defeated Trinity East 4-2 at the St Mary’s Ground, St Clair. Two other games were contested yesterday. East Mucurapo beat St Anthony’s 2-0 at the Fatima Ground in Mucurapo and QRC were held to a 1-1 draw by Carapichaima East at the QRC Ground, St Clair.

NAPS NIP ITPresentation lose Premier Division title on last day trinidadexpress-tto.newsmemory.com/■ Garth Wattley garth.wattley@trinidadexpress.com IT was won on the line, so to speak. Just one point separated the champions from the runners-up on the final day of the 2018 Shell/FCB Secondary Schools Football League Premier Division yesterday. Naparima College, the chasing challengers all season long, made sure they got the point that counted to snatch the title away from their old, old rivals, Presentation College, and land their third Premier Division crown. There was also joy and agony at the bottom end of the table, as surging St Mary's College got their third win in four games to complete a great relegation escape with a 4-2 win at home to Trinity College East, while Premier Division first-timers Valencia Secondary will return to the Championship after a 3-2 defeat to already relegated Fatima College. Meanwhile, as San Juan North Secondary goalkeeper Emmanuel John and the crossbar were denying Presentation the game-winning goal in Bourg Mulatresse that would have seen them retain their title, Nathaniel Perouse (26th minute) and Jeron Pantor with a second-half penalty (64th) secured the three points against Trinity College Moka in Maraval that took Naparima to an unassailable 34 points. 'Fantastic for the boys. It was a difficult season,' declared 'Naps' coach Angus Eve after the final whistle. 'We didn't realise we were unbeaten until yesterday in training, in preparation for this game here today. We just believed that we could do it all the time and we were just taking it one game at a time, and this is what it reached to.' For his Presentation colleague, Shawn Cooper, yesterday's reversal was 'just the luck of the draw. We had a top-three team and Naparima had a depleted Trinity Moka team with four players out', he said. Last season it was Presentation who took the lead late to deny Naparima the title. So to reverse the sequence yesterday pleased Eve. 'It is much sweeter that we can beat Pres on the final day and break their hearts, basically, taking the title,' he said, before adding, 'credit to (Presentation) coach (Shawn) Cooper and his guys, they were tremendous, Jerry Moe and his guys in San Juan, they gave us an unbelievable game when we played them up there so I knew, going into the game today, that Pres wouldn't have it easy up there.' In Moka, Naparima also could not k h f dh take their eyes off of Trinity and their attacking talisman Kai Phillip. But 'Naps'' general organisation saw them through, capped by Perouse's calm, low finish from inside the 18-yard box and Pantor's penalty. Trinity also had the chance to score from the spot in the dhlb ' lk / second half but Naps' goalkeeper/captain Levi Fernandez stopped Temesgn Tezera's effort. Soon after, news of the draw in San Juan came through, exciting the Naps bench. And it was not long before the boys in blue could celebrate properly. 'This is basically our Under-16 team who came up last year, and we really lost all of our senior players... tremendous from the guys,' gushed Eve. He added: 'The Pres game was the most important; the Pres and San Juan. We had them back to back, two unbeaten teams and we came through those two games unscathed and with six points, so that was the turning point for us.' Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted his boys sneaking up, bottles of liquid in hand, ready to pour. 'They coming, they coming,' he whispered to the media personnel before being showered. by Walter Alibey 18 hours ago Wed Nov 14 2018 Arima North Secondary School goalkeeper Kern Forbes makes a save as San Juan North Secondary School Jerry Morris misses out on a goal scoring opportunity when both teams met during the East Zone Coca-Cola SSFL InterCol quarterfinal match-up at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, Arima yesterday. PHOTO: ABRAHAM DIAZ WALTER ALIBEY walter.alibey@guardian.co.tt Four different players scored goals that helped San Juan North Secondary kick-off its InterCol title quest to a positive start when it defeated Arima North Secondary 6-0 in the quarterfinal match-up of the Coca-Cola Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Play-offs. The match was the second of a doubleheader at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar, Arima, yesterday. San Huan which finished third in the SSFL Premier Division got double strikes from Renaldo Boyce and Malik Farrier. Boyce goals came in the 30th and 76th minutes, while Farrier also made a mockery of the Arima North defence with goals in the 34th and 69th minutes. Elijah Garcia 12th and Tyrell Cameron (32nd minute) were the other scorers for San Juan on the day. Arima coach Travis Mulraine said he will deliver his resignation to the school soon due to the lack of support from principal Vishnu Debie and the teaching staff. Mulraine was openly critical of the reluctance by certain teachers in the school to support the football team which participated in the Championship Division of the SSFL. The team, unfortunately, finished bottom of the standings in the zone for the use of illegal players. The win earned San Juan an easy passage through to the semi-final of the east InterCol where they are set to face Premiership rivals Trinity College East on Friday. The Arouca school (Trinity East) also progressed from the quarter-finals by beating Malabar Secondary 4-1 at the same venue.
